The Saudi Food and Drug Association has recently issued a warning to consumers about the threats on safety of a toxic shampoo product that is being sold in the local market. The shampoos were taken off retail shelves after being found to contain serratia maracescens, a bacteria which is toxic to young infants and can lead to a series of medical conditions. Additionally, the Saudi government announced that it will be conducting regular raids  in order to make sure that  fake shampoos are not sold in legitimate retail outlets such as supermarkets, pharmacies, and general stores.
