The Brand Protection Group (BPG) – Lebanon has recently launched a new website (www.brandprotectiongroup.org), with the main purpose of raising awareness to counterfeit activities in Lebanon and effectively addressing the issue. The BPG – Lebanon was established back in March 2003 as an association of leading local, regional, and international manufacturers and distributors working together to fight counterfeit products in Lebanon. To date, the BPG includes brand owners British American Tobacco, Eli Lilly, Henkel, Japan Tobacco International, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oreal, Nestle, Philip Morris Management Services Limited, Procter & Gamble, and Unilever. It is worth noting that there are four Brand Protection Groups in the region, namely BPG Lebanon, BPG Syria, BPG Jordan, and BPG GCC Countries and Yemen, with Saba & Co. IP as one of their service providers.
