An Intellectual Property Training Center will soon be established for the GCC countries with the purpose of improving IP standards in the region. This center works on strengthening the links between the GCC countries especially with regards to research as well as technical support and assistance. Its main objectives include:
– Monitoring and providing policy guidance on key IP issues
– Providing domestic education outreach and capacity building
– Improving efficiency and cooperation in global IP system which means coordinating with the GCC parties concerned in IP such as WIPO and other regional and international training centers
– Organizing and participating in IP seminars and workshops
– Establishing an IP academy and preparing its feasibility study.
