Bahrain has announced that, as of March 7, 2008, the time limit to notify a refusal of protection has been extended from one year to 18 months. This change is part of the deposit being made by Bahrain of its instrument of accession to the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement concerning the International Registration of Marks. In line with Articles 5(2)(d) and 5(2)(b) of the Madrid Protocol, this amendment pushes the deadline of notification of a refusal resulting from an opposition to the granting of protection to 18 months instead of 12.
