By virtue of Ministerial Decree no. 37 of 2007, the Omani government announced its  approval of the country’s accession to the following WIPO treaties and conventions:

– Brussels Convention Relating to the Distribution of Program-Carrying Signals Transmitted by Satellite

– The Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure

– Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks

– The International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants UPOV

– The Trademark Law Treaty

– The Patent Law Treaty

Accordingly, the Omani authorities concerned are now requested to deposit the instruments of accession to the treaties and conventions in accordance with their provisions. Further developments in the matter will be reported in due course.
