Trademark applications and renewals may be submitted electronically at the UAE Trademark Office as of December 6, 2015.
The new process involves uploading an electronic application to the online system, along with soft copies of the power of attorney and priority document. Submitting paper copies of the application and supporting documents will still be required at the TMO after completing the e-filing. Examination, publication, issuing certificates, and other procedures remain unchanged, however.
The new practice is expected to pave the way for a smoother registration process.
