The Trademark Office in Syria has recently modified the requisite formalities for the Power of Attorney. The Power of Attorney now has to be legalized. Earlier, a notarized Power of Attorney was sufficient.
Kindly note that the Syrian Patent Office has received recommendation from the Legislative Council requiring that the Power of Attorney – submitted with a patent application – be legalized. However, there are still no regulations as to when or how this recommendation will be implemented.
