By virtue of Royal Decree no. M/78 dated October 01, 2007, Saudi Arabia will re-organize the structure of the country’s court system including that of the Board of Grievances, which mainly administers disputes between the Saudi government and private parties including cases related to intellectual property. Among the main features of Royal Decree no. M/78 are the endorsement of an independent judiciary, the establishment of three Court levels (the Court of First Instance, the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court), and the introduction of provisions for the employment of new judiciary staff.
