Oman introduced Industrial Property Rights Law no. 67 of 2008 on May 17, 2008, which includes provisions on design protection. This law replaces existing laws no. 38 of 2000, 39 of 2000, 40 of 2000, 41 of 2000, and 82 of 2000. The regulations implementing Law no. 67 of 2008 came into effect in Oman on December 17, 2008 by virtue of Ministerial Resolution no. 103 of 2008. The Omani Patent Office is now accepting design applications. However, it is important to note that the Omani Intellectual Property Department is yet to disclose specific formalities regarding requirements, examination, publication, registration and renewal
