Qatar: Ministry Expands Digital IP Services with New Copyright E-Services
May 05, 2026
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has launched five new intellectual property e-services, increasing the total number of digital IP services available through the Ministry to seven.
The initiative forms part of Qatar’s ongoing efforts to modernize administrative procedures, improve service accessibility, and advance the digital transformation of its intellectual property framework.
The newly introduced services are centered on copyright and neighboring rights matters and cover the registration and issuance of deposit certificates, amendments to existing registrations, waiver requests, and the issuance of official certificates addressed “to whom it may concern.”
The services are intended to support a broad range of stakeholders operating in creative and technology-related sectors, including authors, artists, researchers, software developers, performers, and broadcasting entities.
The development also reflects a wider regional trend toward the digitization of intellectual property procedures and the expansion of online government services supporting innovation and creative industries.
