Jordan: Authorities Crack Down on Counterfeit Cosmetics Operation
May 11, 2026
Jordanian authorities have shut down an unlicensed operation involved in the manufacture of counterfeit cosmetics following an enforcement action led by the Anti-Smuggling Directorate of Jordan Customs.
The operation uncovered a workshop operating from a residential apartment where counterfeit cosmetic products were reportedly being produced using raw materials of unknown origin. Authorities also seized counterfeit packaging materials and finished products prepared for distribution in the local market.
According to official reports, the facility failed to comply with basic health and safety standards, raising concerns over potential risks to consumer health and safety.
Jordan Food and Drug Administration has coordinated with Jordan Customs to pursue legal measures against those involved.
The enforcement action reflects ongoing efforts by Jordanian authorities to combat counterfeit goods and strengthen market oversight, particularly in sectors with direct public health implications.
