Trademark Prosecution

Patent Prosecution

Copyright Prosecution
Saba & Co. IP provides counsel on the registration, protection and

Trademark Watch
Saba & Co. IP are trademark experts in the region, and as such we are best
placed to advise on the optimal course of action for dealing with conflicting
trademarks. We maintain a database of all published marks in our region. Our
watch department uses human skill as well as internally developed electronic
algorithms to detect potentially conflicting trademark applications. We look at
phonetic and visual similarities, transliteration and translations of the marks
and any other nuances which we believe to be of interest to our clients.
Because in most cases we prosecuted the trademark we are watching, we know what
to look for when conducting our watch and consequently do not send superfluous
watch notices. In alerting clients we give practical advice as to the strategy
and chances of successfully opposing the published trademarks.
Anti-Counterfeit/Anti-Piracy Services
Saba & Co. has substantial experience in conducting field investigations in
the markets of our region. This work includes enquiries into suspect internal
operations, investigations in support of due diligence projects, and
fact-gathering for affirmative claims or litigation. Our array of national and
regional contacts with recognized experts and investigators in various fields
allows us to call upon outside resources where necessary to ensure that
investigations are conducted in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
We strongly believe that the key to a successful anti-piracy policy lies in
effective border measures and the proactive support of law enforcement
agencies. As such we continuously lobby the government authorities concerned in
our countries to tighten the laws regarding counterfeiting. We are also the
founding members of the local chapters of the Brand Protection Group for
Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, GCC, and Yemen.
Litigation/Legal Advisory Services
Saba & Co. IP has successfully litigated numerous cases in intellectual
property. Our enforcement and anti-piracy expertise extends to all areas of
intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, designs,
trade names, trade dress, and unfair competition. We coordinate with private

countries on behalf of its clients. We also conduct domain name searches and
handle the payment of renewal fees. Our attorneys provide advice on policing
