Filing Requirements
1. Power of attorney, simply signed, with Company seal.
2. 3 copies of the specifications in French.
3. 3 sets of Drawings.
4. Copy of PCT Request.
5. Copy of International Publication.
6. Copy of International Search Report.
7. Copy of International Preliminary Examination Report (if available).
The title in French, the power of attorney, and documents 4-7 must be submitted at the time of filing. Remaining documents may be submitted within 3 months from filing date.
Time Limits
Under PCT Chapter I: 31 months from the priority date.
Under PCT Chapter II: 31 months from the priority date.
Annuities
The 1st through the 5th patent annuities are payable at the time of filing. The remaining annuities are payable in groups of 5 years at the time of payment of the 6th, 11th and 16th annuities. There is a 6-month grace period for late payment with a surcharge.
Protection Term
The term of protection is 20 years from the international filing date.
